Setting up Web Services authentication
SirsiDynix Horizon and SirsiDynix Symphony customers can use Web Services for Horizon and Symphony to control access to personalized or patron-only features in Portfolio, including the My Account page and Place Hold action. Using Web Services for authentication means that patrons can log in to Portfolio using their Horizon or Symphony username and password.
To turn on Web Services authentication in Portfolio, you will need to do the following:

Add the Web Services server details to the list of authentication servers in Portfolio. For more information, see To add a Web Services authentication server to Portfolio.

Select this authentication server under those profiles that you want to use Web Services authentication. For more information, see To set up Web Services authentication in a profile.
To add a Web Services authentication server to Portfolio

Log in to the Admin console.

Click Security from the navigation pane.

Click Authentication Servers from the Security menu.

Do one of the following:

Click Add Symphony Web Services Server.

Click Add Horizon Web Services Server.

Complete the fields, as necessary. For more information, see Fields: Add/Edit Symphony Web Services Authentication Server or Fields: Add/Edit Horizon Web Services Authentication Server.

When you have finished, click OK.
To set up Web Services authentication in a profile

Click Profiles from the navigation pane.

Click Edit () alongside the profile that you want to use Web Services authentication.

Under Security Options, select the Web Services authentication server from the drop-down list at the bottom of this section.
Note: If you do not see a drop-down list, click Add Authentication Server and one will appear directly below.

Click OK to save changes.
